March 13th Thursday

I got up around 10 or 11am. I was expecting a Facebook message from Christine telling me if she’d heard from the landlord about the apartment. I didn’t have one.

I had some bread with butter and coing jam. Apparently the English word is “quince.” I spent some time on the computer.

For lunch I made a grilled sandwich with ham, cheddar, and emmental cheese. I had Orangina to drink. I waited for Adrienne to take her shower and then I took mine. Not getting charged for water means we don’t have to shower together yet to save water. I showered at 5pm. Then I got dressed and read for a while. I wanted to go to the library but I didn’t end up going. Adrienne talked to her mom for a bit.

For dinner I wanted to go out instead of cook. We decided to go to the Chinese food restaurant on our street. I had sweet and sour chicken with some curry rice and miso soup. It all came to about €10. It was okay. They hadn’t heated up the chicken as hot as I’d like. We went upstairs to sit in the extra seating area.

After dinner we stopped by the apartment again. We wanted to do something silly tonight. I grabbed my camera. Then we wrote down and memorized the lyrics to a song by Flight of the Conchords. We practiced a bit. Then we walked across the Seine looking for somewhere to film us singing the song. It was drizzling a bit and it was late so thankfully there weren’t that many people out. We finally decided on a very fitting place: Place de la Concorde! We filmed ourselves singing the song “If you’re into it” by Flight of the Conchords. It was a lot of fun. We made our way home after that.

I talked to my parents on Skype. Then Adrienne and I talked for a while. We went to bed around 3:00am.
