March 18th Tuesday

I got up at 10:00am. Despite having enough sleep I felt tired. I guess I had collected some sleep debt. I had a nice breakfast of bread with butter and orange jam as well as a yogurt. I got ready and we walked to Rue Jacob. We had an added morning class for the day.

We went up to the conference room for an Irondelle class. It was hard not having a dry-erase board that he could write on. He spoke so fast that sometimes we could ask him to write a word or name down for us.

After the class I went to lunch with Amanda and Heidi. We went to a sandwich shop called “Lina’s Sandwiches. They have a student menu price. I was able to get a curry turkey sandwich and a Pepsi light for €6. We ate there and then walked in the direction of class. Somehow someone mentioned crêpes. We headed to the crêpe stand at Saint Germain des Près. It was good we did because we ran into Heidi’s mom there. She was visiting and touring by herself while Heidi was in class. We all got some nutella crêpes. They were absolutely delicious. I love gooey chocolaty goodness.

We walked toward class. I ran into the library to grab the books I’d returned before. Then we went to Grossman’s class. The class attendance was kind of appalling. All of the Trans-Atlantic Masters (i.e. Americans) were there but only 2 of the Euromasters were there. One of them is kind of American anyway. Granted, all of the papers were becoming intense, but we had made an effort to go to class. Besides, we’d seen most of them in class that morning. Even Grossman made a comment about it.

After class I went with Heidi and her mom to Rue Mouffetard. It’s a street in Paris that has many interesting shops. There were some fun shops. One of them is actually a chain. It’s a store that sells tons of olive products from edible to cosmetic varieties.

We continued walking and went into a little church. I believe it’s Eglise Médard. We went inside and looked around. After that we looked around for just a little bit more. My backpack was starting to kill me. I still had my computer and library books in it. We decided to head to the metro and go home.

I got home and made some dinner. We had ratatouille with chicken. I accompanied this with couscous as well as bread with cheese and capers on it. After dinner I took a shower.

I got to talk to my mom and dad on Skype. They had gotten my package that I mailed to them. It had goodies from Scotland and France in it. They were really excited to get it. This was unfortunately the first time I’d gotten my act together and mailed them a package.

I talked to Adrienne for a while after that. Then the most miraculous thing happened. I started my introduction on my big paper! I’d broken my procrastination/writer’s block. I didn’t want to stop the flow so I ended up going to bed around 4:00am.
